Night of 1000 Pumpkins
Be part of transforming Sutter Street into a "Pumpkin Paradise" Completed Pumpkin drop-off will take place from 4-6:00 p.m. Candles will be provided by organizers. Judging will take place at 6:30 p.m., after all entries have been placed and prizes will be awarded (categories listed below.) At 7:30 p.m. the "Pumpkin Lighters Parade" will take place and these participants will light the pumpkins. You can register at http://www.sutterfallfest.com . New Library Use Exceeds Expectations
Visitation was up over 50 percent from the month of March 2006. During opening month, library patrons checked out more than 45,000 books, DVDs and audiovisual items. Staff issued 2,355 new library cards during the first month, an average of more than 65 each day the library was open. In comparison, staff issued 2,802 cards during the entire previous year.
