Thursday Night Market in Folsom
Join in a celebration of free enterprise and new ideas blended with heritage craftsmanship and art. There are street performers, live theatre, kids zone, food & drink vendors and entertainment for everyone in the family. Now in its 15th year this event blends art, fun, food and commerce into a neighborly snapshot of our community. The Thursday Night Marketplace brings the local and regional community downtown to walk, browse, talk plus meet your friends and neighbors. All in the shadow of a wonderfully historic and colorful hometown. New this year will be specially "themed" nights.

Cattle Drive July 1, 2009, 4:30 PM - 6:45 PM
Come to Folsom and see 55 Longhorn Steer driven down historic Sutter Street at high noon. Joined by cowboys, horse-drawn wagons, and the original Wells Fargo Wagon. Enjoy characters in period costume, equestrian teams, and many other features. This event provides several other activities for all family members. The best viewing for this free event will be along Sutter Street as the cattle travel from the Folsom City Park. The Cattle drive is an opportunity to witness a reenactment of the city's history.

This month we'll be reading Click, Clack, Moo! Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin illustrated by Betsy Lewin. After we read the story and get some of the wiggles out with a few songs, we'll get creative and paint our very own ceramic keepsake cow! Due to the high volume of participants we experience for these Paint Me A Story FREE Events, we highly recommend you sign up in advance. Space is limited to the first 28 reservations. Ages 3-6 only PLEASE. If you would like to stay and paint additional projects after the Event we will gladly waive your child's Studio Fee! New Library Use Exceeds Expectations
Visitation was up over 50 percent from the month of March 2006. During opening month, library patrons checked out more than 45,000 books, DVDs and audiovisual items. Staff issued 2,355 new library cards during the first month, an average of more than 65 each day the library was open. In comparison, staff issued 2,802 cards during the entire previous year.

Women Unified in the Spirit of Motherhood Sierra Moms is a not for profit volunteer run organization. Most of our members live in the Folsom, El Dorado Hills and neighboring communities. Our goal is to provide our members with opportunities to establish relationships with other moms who have common interests.
